self care session

Guided meditation, journaling, self-care and sharing circle

A Virtual Self-Care Hour for Activists

When the world feels overwhelming, taking time for yourself can feel like the last thing on your to-do list.

You might notice yourself:

Getting lost in endless doomscrolling

Juggling a never-ending to-do list

Staying up late, mind racing

Replaying “what ifs” in your head

Putting joy, rest, and play on the back burner

We get it. It’s hard to pause when there’s so much that needs fixing. But the truth is: rest is resistance, too. Caring for yourself isn’t indulgent - it’s essential.

Join us for a gentle, phone-free hour of self-care.

Bring a creative project, something cosy, or just yourself. We'll hold space together for rest, connection, and quiet joy.

📅 Set aside one hour just for you
🧘🏽‍♀️ No agenda - just come as you are
🎨 Do something soothing, creative, or simply be

Cost: £10

Or pay £5 with the code ‘joyful’ - choose what’s accessible to you. No questions asked.

5 minutes

meditation

We'll start with a guided meditation to settle into the space. You can have your camera on or off at any point. You can be sitting, lying down or out on a walk.

10 minutes

journaling

We'll spend 10 minutes doing solo journaling. I'll offer some journal prompts to get everything out of your head and onto paper.

25 minutes

self-care time

Time for you to do whatever self-care activity you'd find most comforting. Want to do some cooking or knitting? Journaling or reading? Colouring or doodling? You can have the sound on and chat to us, or pop us on mute in the background. Our only recommendation is that your self-care activity doesn't involve your phone.

15 minutes

optional sharing circle

For anyone that's feeling chatty, we can share three things:

  • something we're grateful for
  • something we're worried about
  • something we're going to do for joy this week

If you don't fancy chatting, you can a) listen b) write your answers in the chat c) have an extra 15-minutes for your self-care activity.

5 minutes

storytime

Remember how comforting it felt to be read to as a child? Somewhere along the way, many of us stopped sharing stories aloud, but storytelling is still a powerful form of connection and care.

At the end of our session, we’ll gather for a short, gentle storytime - just five minutes to listen, soften, and reconnect.
It might be a poem, a passage from a book, or words that inspire and uplift. A small ritual to remind us: we’re not alone in this. Let’s nourish our inner children and our collective hearts together.

"When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life."

faq

What do I need to bring?

Everything is optional, but we would suggest: a journal and pen, something comfy to sit on, a warm drink/snack, and a self-care activity for our 25-minute collective self-care section of the call.

How much does it cost to attend?

Our workshops are £10, or you can pay £5 using the code ‘joyful’. Pay whichever feels more accessible to you, no questions asked.

Is this group therapy?

No, this workshop is not a therapeutic space. If you require mental health support, please talk to a loved one and contact your doctor.

What will we do for the hour?

See our outline above. The hour will include a guided meditation, journaling, self-care activity, optional sharing circle and storytime.

How many people will be there, and is it recorded?

Our workshops usually have around 5-10 people each time. We do not record them, as being recorded can feel uncomfortable for some people, and we want you to feel as comfortable as possible in the space.

Where can I join the call from, and do I need my camera on?

Anywhere in the world! All you need is a device to access the Zoom link. We will alternate the times each week to accommodate global time zones. You are welcome to have your camera on or off at any point. I will always have mine on.

Come and look after your wellbeing with us.
