APRIL WORKSHOP

Rehearsing Care workshop

Rehearsing Care - an Applied Theatre Hour for Changemakers - is a calm, non-performative session for people who carry a lot.

This hour blends applied-theatre prompts with nervous-system settling.

You'll leave the session with a steadier body, one tiny practice for the week, and one sentence to protect your energy.

Our guest practitioner this month is Usama Kayani.

Thursday 23rd April | 7-8pm (BST) | Zoom

About the workshop

This is a calm, guided hour to slow down and reconnect.

We’ll use a household object, a short grounding practice, and a simple exercise to explore how to notice and express your limits.

You don’t need any creative experience. There’s no acting, no spotlight, and nothing to get right — just gentle invitations you can take in your own way.

You’ll come away with one small, steady practice for the week ahead, and clearer language for saying, “That’s enough for today.”

Accessibility: everyday language, no pressure to share, you can opt out of anything at any time, and cameras are always optional.

kind words about our wellbeing workshops

“The descriptive guidance offered during the session was helpful for me to realise how scattered my mind has been over the last few months, and which parts of my body need more rest and care. I am so excited to get back into practicing yoga.”

“I attended the Nidra Yoga session with The Joyful Activists, and had a wonderful experience. The session was a great opportunity to consciously check-in with my mind and body - which I haven't had the chance to do in a while.”

"Thank you so much, this workshop was just what I needed! I feel so much calmer, and it's so nice to be around other people who want to prioritise their mental health too.”

"The session was enjoyable and made me reflect. I went away feeling refreshed and there were things I felt inspired to put into action right away. I went away with a spring in my step; I am now taking a whole new approach to my work, and feeling like my wellbeing is much better."

You'll need your laptop, tablet or phone to join the Zoom call. We'd recommend bringing a journal and pen. You can bring drinks, snacks, or your dinner too!

where will the workshop take place?

Our Wellbeing Workshops take place on Zoom. Once you've bought your ticket you'll receive an email with the Zoom link. We'll also email you one day and one hour before the workshop with the link, so it's top of your inbox!

i've never been to a wellbeing workshop before, can i come?

Yes! We welcome you whether it's your first or your tenth workshop with us.

are tickets refundable?

We're a tiny one-person organisation, so tickets are non-refundable to ensure we can cover our overheads. We understand that life gets busy, so if you can't make it then get in touch with us and we'll endeavour to swap your ticket for our next workshop instead.

are workshops recorded?

No, we don't record our virtual workshops. This ensures everyone on the call can show up as they are, and share thoughts and feelings freely.

how often are workshops?

Our Wellbeing Workshops are monthly, and the topic changes each month! We've explored things like yoga nidra, breathwork, meditation, yin yoga, EFT tapping, and we're always open to new practices.
